OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma City University Film Institute’s series continues next month with Asghar Farhadi’s “The Past.”

Farhadi is the director of the Oscar winner “A Separation.” With the Feb. 8 screening of “The Past,” Farhadi presents another highly regarded Iranian film from the country that was most requested on film series evaluation forms.

The character Ahmad reunites with his estranged wife in Paris to finalize their divorce, which is soon complicated by a shocking revelation by her daughter from a previous marriage.

“The Past” serves as compelling testament to Farhadi’s gift for finely layered drama. It won or was nominated at film festivals around the world for best film, actress, director and screenplay.

Admission to all films is free. A discussion follows each film screening for those who wish to participate.
