MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) - A reserve Berkeley County sheriff’s deputy has been charged with threatening to kill his wife.

Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies arrested 52-year-old David Francis Flood on Sunday night and charged him with aggravated criminal domestic violence and possession of marijuana.

Multiple media outlets reported that Flood’s wife said when he arrived home he was angry and yelling and drew his service gun and pointing it at the floor and saying he would kill her.

A police report says Flood said neither he nor his wife touched each other during the confrontation.

Berkeley County sheriff’s spokesman Dan Moon says Flood was not on duty when the incident happened. Moon says Flood has been suspended.

It was not clear if he has an attorney.
