MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Sentencing has been delayed again for a man convicted of taking a girl from southeast Alabama to Tennessee and Ohio for sex.

Charles Partin of Clayton had been scheduled for sentencing Wednesday in Montgomery, but U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson delayed it at the request of the defense. This is the second delay prompted by the illness of the person performing a psychological evaluation of Partin. The evaluation is part of the sentencing process.

Partin was convicted in July of taking a girl to Tennessee and Ohio for sex when she was 15. He was also convicted of transporting a stolen vehicle across state lines.

The case prompted a national Amber Alert because the girl was taken from a state social worker at a Dothan hospital in September 2012.
