FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have identified a boy who died in a zip line accident in northern Arizona as 15-year-old Antonio Flores.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says the Gilbert resident died Saturday from head injuries he suffered while using the zip line.

The zip line was part of a group of activities for a Boy Scouts troop at a home in Forest Lakes.

Larry Abbott is the chief executive of the Boy Scouts of America’s Grand Canyon Council. He said Tuesday that Flores got on the zip line as adults were gathering safety equipment, including the braking mechanism and helmets.

He says Flores stuck a tree.

Abbott says the organization sympathizes with the troop and Flores’ family.
