HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Traffic on Hot Springs Mountain Road to the Hot Springs Mountain Tower and other destinations in the area will be rerouted for about three months beginning next week.

Traffic will be diverted starting Monday as crews stabilize and rehabilitate one-third of a mile of historic rock walls.

Highway officials say the walls have become unstable through the years and are pushing away from the mountainside. Water runoff also is undermining the road surface.

Workers will remove the rocks, reinforce the mountainside and rebuild the walls using the same stones in the original place where they once stood.
