VIENNA, Ga. (AP) - A food processing company is planning to create 500 jobs in the planned expansion of its plant in Dooly County.

Gov. Nathan Deal said in a statement Tuesday that Tyson Foods, Inc. is expected to invest roughly $110 million in the expansion of a plant in Vienna - about 55 miles south of Macon. Deal says the expansion is expected to happen within the next year.

Officials say the company is planning to add 100,000 of square feet to it plant, which produces chicken for chain restaurants. Officials say the company will also begin distributing chicken that is packaged for regional retail customers.

Tyson Foods, Inc. is headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas.
