CORDOVA, Ala. (AP) - A man was killed in a gas explosion that left three utility workers hospitalized in northwest Alabama.

Cordova Mayor Drew Gilbert tells Al.com (https://bit.ly/1ytine2 ) city water and gas employees were responding to a leak at a house Tuesday afternoon when the house exploded.

Gilbert says injured employees were taken to a local hospital and utility workers are shutting off gas mains in the rest of the city.

Walker County Coroner Joey Vick says the man’s identity has not yet been released.
