RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia State Parks is seeking volunteers for the AmeriCorps project.

The parks are seeking 25 prospects for part-time AmeriCorps members to serve in state parks between April and September. While they volunteer, AmeriCorps members plan, develop and lead interpretive programs. They also give a hand to park staff coordinating services projects.

Members serve 675 hours and receive a bi-monthly living allowance. Volunteers who successfully complete their AmeriCorps service are also eligible to receive an education award of $2,114.
