BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) - Aly Ahmed had 21 points and nine rebounds, and Kevin Mays added 10 and 10 to help Cal State-Bakersfield pull away for a 79-54 win over San Diego Christian on Tuesday night.

Javonte Maynor tied a season-high with 17 points and Abdul Ahmed scored 11 for Cal State-Bakersfield (7-14), which trailed 33-32 at halftime despite shooting 60 percent in the first half.

Aly Ahmed scored the first five points of the second half, sparking an 11-0 run which gave Bakersfield a 43-33 lead with 16 minutes to play and San Diego Christian, which trailed by as many as 29, never again threatened.

Rafael Rodriguez made 6 of 10 3-pointers and led San Diego Christian with 20 points. The Roadrunners made just 7 of 22 (31.8 percent) in the second half, including 2 of 10 from 3-point range.

Bakersfield shot a season-high 62.8 percent from the field.
