HASTINGS, N.Y. (AP) - State police are investigating a one-car accident in central New York that demolished a sign dedicated to a trooper killed in a crash on the same stretch of road three years ago.

Troopers say a 27-year-old woman from Brewerton was traveling on Route 37 around 10 a.m. Tuesday when she lost control on a curve, hit a guardrail, overturned and landed in a yard in the Oswego County town of Hastings, 23 miles north of Syracuse.

The woman was taken to a Syracuse hospital, where she’s listed in stable condition. Troopers say charges are pending against the woman.

Police say when the car crashed, it struck and demolished a roadside sign placed in honor of Trooper Amanda Anna, who was killed in an on-duty crash at the same spot in May 2012.
