FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) - Davis County prosecutors have filed a criminal charge against a former sheriff’s deputy accused of having sex with a female inmate.

The (Ogden) Standard Examiner reports (https://tinyurl.com/o36ay6k) 50-year-old Michael Wayne Mueller was issued a summons earlier this month for one count of custodial sexual relations, a third-degree felony.

He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance on March 30.

Court records say the inmate reported to authorities she performed oral sex on the ex-Davis County deputy at the jail in Farmington in September. The charging document says Mueller admitted to engaging in the act while working as a corrections officer at the jail.

Muller was fired in late September after about six years on the job.

The sheriff’s office asked Farmington police to investigate the matter.
