FREMONT, Ohio (AP) - A former state trooper in northern Ohio has been sentenced to jail after pleading no contest to a pornography-related charge.

Authorities in Sandusky County accused Ricky Vitte Jr. of showing a 12-year-old boy a pornographic video about six years ago.

A sheriff’s report says Vitte told the boy’s mother he was teaching him about alternatives to sexual intercourse.

A judge on Monday sentenced Vitte to spend at least 30 days in jail before he’s eligible to spend another five months wearing an electronic monitor.

Vitte told the judge he was in counseling, and he apologized to the boy’s mother. He earlier pleaded no contest to disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
