WESTMINSTER, S.C. (AP) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is inviting members of the public to come out and have casual conversation with some of its officers.

The department is hosting its Coffee with a Cop event at the Westminster Depot on Wednesday. Organizers say the event gives people a chance to ask question and learn more about officers’ work in Oconee County neighborhoods.

Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says these kinds of events help people feel comfortable bringing their concerns to law enforcement and getting to know the officers themselves.
