NEW YORK (AP) - Regular weekday service is resuming on New York City’s subways and rails a day after a snowstorm shut down the city but commuters should expect delays.

The MTA says some subway lines may resume express service later than usual on Wednesday morning. It says commuters should check its website for service status.

City buses will be equipped with snow chains on select routes.

The Long Island Rail Road is resuming regular weekday service on most branches. But the agency advises that there will be no morning rush hour service between Montauk and Speonk and Greenport and Ronkonkoma because of continued snow removal.

Metro-North is expected to operate normally.
