TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for an assault on the Pascua Yaqui Indian Nation.

Prosecutors say 26-year-old Peter Ron Acuna received a 70-month prison term Tuesday along with three years of supervised release.

Acuna pleaded guilty in April to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

Pascua Yaqui Tribal Police officers responded to a report of a fight occurring on the reservation in Tucson on Nov. 18, 2013.

Officers found an unconscious man on the ground, covered in blood.

Witnesses stated that Acuna had confronted the victim about his presence in the neighborhood and a fight broke out.

Prosecutors say the victim suffered an orbital skull fracture and multiple lacerations to his face.
