PASADENA, Md. (AP) - Three Anne Arundel County Police officers were seriously hurt in a crash after hitting a car that had pulled out in front of them.

Police Sgt. T.J. Smith says the officers were driving in an unmarked police car with its lights and siren on while responding to a call about an armed suspect in Pasadena on Wednesday morning.

That’s when Smith says another car pulled out from a stop sign and into the path of the officers’ car. The officer driving swerved to avoid a direct impact but still hit the car’s front corner.

The three officers in the car were taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other car had minor injuries.
