RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Bon Secours Virginia CEO Peter J. Bernard plans to retire on Aug. 31.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1yRaJiD ) reports that Bon Secours Health Systems announced Bernard’s retirement on Thursday.

He has served as the health system’s chief executive officer for Richmond-area operations since 2000.

During Bernard’s tenure, Bon Secours helped establish the St. Francis Medical Center in Chestefield and helped bring the Washington Redskins’ training camp to the area.
