RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (AP) - A South Texas police officer has been accused of selling synthetic marijuana at a Raymondville novelty store he operates.

Edinburg police say 32-year-old Officer Michael Anthony Moreno of Pharr will be suspended without paying pending results of the investigation.

Willacy County jail records show Moreno and his 24-year-old sister, Amanda Nicole Elizondo of Raymondville, were being held without bond Thursday. Both are charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.

The Valley Morning Star (https://bit.ly/1y9V5eq ) reports the store in Raymondville is next to a charter school. Police say Moreno owns the store and his sister is an employee.

No attorneys were listed for the siblings, who were booked Wednesday.

Edinburg police didn’t immediately return a message Thursday.
