OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has environmental cleanup funding available for eligible brownfield sites throughout the state.

Environmental cleanup funding is available as low-interest loans and sub-grants, with about $450,000 for loans and $200,000 available for sub-grants. 

The funds are to finance eligible brownfield cleanup projects, encourage redevelopment and create local jobs. The funds may be used toward the cleanup of properties contaminated by hazardous substances.

Local governments, nonprofits and tribes are eligible for the grants. Private entities, local governments, nonprofits and tribes are eligible for low-interest loans.

The agency will accept applications for sub-grants until Feb. 28.
