PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Gov. John Kitzhaber plans to speak to reporters Friday about his fiancee’s work for a clean energy group.

The Portland media availability will mark Kitzhaber’s first public comments since EO Media Group reported this week that Cylvia Hayes was paid $118,000 by Clean Economy Development Center.

Hayes’ earnings from the group had not been previously disclosed, but her work for other organizations seeking to influence state government has raised ethics questions for the Democratic governor.

A state ethics commission is investigating Hayes’ consulting work and is expected to issue findings in March.

Hayes is in Europe and will not be at Kitzhaber’s press conference Friday.
