WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington Police have charged a man with eight armed robberies after he was arrested in connection with a robbery at a pizza restaurant.

Officers say shortly after noon on Wednesday, they went to Pete’s Pizza on North Market Street for a reported robbery.

Police say the officers spotted a man matching the description of the robber, chased him on foot and took him into custody after a brief struggle.

Authorities say the man, 24-year-old Clayton Bush of Wilmington, threw away a replica handgun during the chase, which police recovered.

After an investigation, Bush was charged with robbing Pete’s Pizza and seven other robberies over the past month.
