CURRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A 23-year-old man is facing charges for three fires in rural northeast Missouri.

The fires broke out Saturday in the Curryville area of Pike County, about 90 miles north of St. Louis. Fields caught fire in two of the instances. The third fire destroyed a barn and damaged a machine shed. No one was hurt.

Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte says Melvin J. Yoder of Bowling Green was arrested Saturday night. A deputy saw Yoder in the area of the third fire. Authorities say another deputy identified Yoder as being at the first two fires.

Yoder is jailed on $10,000 bond on charges of burglary and arson. He does not have a listed attorney.
