CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged a suspect in a fatal shooting at a convenience store on the city’s southwest side.

Local media reports say 25-year-old Justin Jerrell Eason is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police said they found Eason at his home and took him into custody without incident.

According to police, 19-year-old Erick Jamaal Neely was shot inside a convenience store around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Neely was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center.

Police have released few details about the shooting and have not said whether it involved an employee at the store.
