ENFIELD, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say one of three people injured in a two-vehicle collision on a central New York road has died from her injuries.

State police tell the Ithaca Journal (https://ithacajr.nl/1zFj8I9 ) that 23-year-old Ashley Hair of Ithaca died Wednesday evening at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Troopers say she was a passenger in a pickup truck that rear-ended a garbage truck that had stopped on a road in the Tompkins County town of Enfield, just west of Ithaca, around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The pickup truck’s driver, 46-year-old Paul Carl of Enfield, is listed in critical condition Thursday at Packer Hospital. His 12-year-old son was taken to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.

The driver of the garbage truck wasn’t hurt.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
