ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a College Park man was shot and killed Friday in front of the victim’s 2-year-old son.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1D4DuLt ) reports that Jimmy Pate Jr. is being held on murder charges.

College Park police say Jonas Douze Jr. was sitting in a car speaking with his child’s mother when he was shot in the head. The couple’s 2-year-old son was in the back seat.

Douze, 57, was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police said that Pate is the estranged husband of the child’s mother.

The woman and child were not harmed.
