WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man with a broomstick scared off two brick-wielding robbers in Wilmington.

It happened about 7:25 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a Sleepy’s mattress store. Troopers say a 44-year-old man was approached by two teenagers, one of whom was armed with a brick.

Police say the youths demanded money from the man, but instead of giving up his money, the man got a broomstick from his car.

Troopers say the youths fled, and were last seen running behind the mattress store.
