PLEASANT HILLS, Pa. (AP) - The Allegheny County medical examiner says a man found dead in the Pittsburgh suburbs after an armed standoff with police had fatally shot himself.

The medical examiner has identified the dead man as 42-year-old Justin Hay, of Pleasant Hills.

Police have said Hay shot his father about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, then refused to surrender for hours after police surrounded the home.

When police finally forced their way in after 10 p.m., they found Hay dead.

An autopsy confirmed Hay shot himself in the head.

Police haven’t said what prompted the altercation and subsequent shootings.

Pleasant Hills police have said the older man was taken to a hospital in stable condition, with unspecified injuries, but haven’t released his name.
