RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Navy Band is coming to Virginia as part of its 2015 spring tour.

The band is scheduled to perform at Glen Allen High School in suburban Richmond on Feb. 16. It’s one of 32 cities in six states on the tour.

Officials say the tour is one of the Navy’s signature outreach programs.

Commanding officer Capt. Brian O. Walden says the band acts as an agent of public diplomacy for the American government, improving relations with allies and others using the universal language of music.

The band presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral works and modern wind ensemble repertoire.

All performances are free and open to the public.
