BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - No one has been hurt after a fire broke out at a Michigan school.

The fire occurred at a former elementary school in Saginaw County that is now the site of a Head Start program. According to the Bridgeport Township Fire Department, the fire was located on the roof and upper portion of a wall in the gymnasium Thursday. Saginaw News (https://bit.ly/1A8kvyH) reports that classrooms and occupied areas were not affected.

Faculty and students were evacuated and taken to Bridgeport High School while firefighters worked to put the fire out.

Crews arrived to repair the damage arrived at the school soon after the fire was put out.
