NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - A Norfolk doctor has been fined and his license has been put on probation for what authorities say was unprofessional behavior: having sex with a patient.

Nebraska Health and Human Services says in documents filed last month that Dr. Rodrigo Gomez-Cordero agreed to a settlement that included a $5,000 fine and six months of license probation.

Another department document says Gomez-Cordero acknowledged the woman’s report that they’d had sex once at her home in 2006 or 2007 and that he’d grabbed or touched her in a sexual manner in his office about a dozen times. He treated her from May 2006 until December 2013.

He acknowledged prescribing painkillers to her so she wouldn’t report him to state regulators.
