BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Police in Brockton say two men who were killed in an early morning shooting were brothers who lived in the city.

Authorities identified the victims as 28-year-old Steve Afonso and 26-year-old David Afonso, who were shot multiple times in a car shortly after 2:30 a.m. Friday near the corner of Highland and Glenwood streets.

No arrests have been announced. Brockton and state police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call them.

Authorities say the city’s gunshot detection system alerted police to the gunshots. Responding officers found the Afonso brothers in a car in a snowbank. They were pronounced dead at local hospitals.

The shootings were the city’s first two homicides of 2015, after 14 last year.
