RENO, Nev. (AP) - A jury in Reno has found a 47-year-old man guilty of battery on a police officer and possession of methamphetamine stemming from a June 2013 incident.

A spokeswoman for Washoe County District Attorney Christopher Hicks said Thursday that the Washoe County District Court jury found Shawn Hemingway guilty Wednesday of charges that could get him up to four years in state prison and a year in county jail.

Hemingway was arrested in June after police investigating a report of a hit-and-run crash summoned paramedics for Hemingway in the parking lot of his apartment complex.

Police said Hemingway scuffled with paramedics and police, and spit in the face of a Reno police officer.

Prosecutors say a small amount of methamphetamine was found when Hemingway was booked at the Washoe County jail.
