ST. LOUIS (AP) - A judge has sentenced a St. Louis man to prison for a 2012 shooting in which a 10-year-old boy was struck in the stomach.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports 21-year-old Jimmy Brown has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. He pleaded guilty in November to first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Prosecutors say Brown was riding in a car, and as he approached an intersection, he emerged from the sunroof, holding a gun.

Authorities say he fired his gun multiple times at people on the street, hitting the child and a 24-year-old man in the arm. Both victims survived, and Brown was arrested shortly afterward.
