LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) - Days before a fire destroyed a garage at an auto salvage business in Londonderry, New Hampshire, town officials said they were petitioning to revoke its license.

Firefighters said the fire at Murray’s Auto Recycling started Thursday in the garage and spread to stacks of crushed cars. No one was hurt; the cause is under investigation.

Town Manager Kevin Smith tells WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1CjKUdK) the license was renewed this year with the stipulation that the owner not stack cars above the fence and that he needed a certain amount of fencing.

Smith said that didn’t happen; the town informed his lawyer a couple of days ago it was going to petition the court to revoke it.

A phone message was left seeking comment Friday from the owner, identified as Ed Dudek Jr.
