SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - The New York State Military Museum is hosting a talk by a Hudson Valley author whose latest book tells the story of the forgotten soldiers who won the American Revolution.

Jack Kelly of Rhinebeck in Dutchess County is the author of “Band of Giants: The Amateur Soldiers Who Won America’s Independence.” Published last September, it details the exploits of military leaders such as Daniel Morgan, Henry Knox and other Continental Army officers who tend to get overlooked in history books.

Kelly’s presentation begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the museum, located in downtown Saratoga Springs. His talk is free and open to the public.

The program is the latest in a series of free presentations the military museum is hosting into April.
