ASHLAND, Neb. (AP) - A workshop for bird lovers has been scheduled next month at Mahoney State Park near Ashland in eastern Nebraska.

The Birds and Binoculars event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the lower level of the Riverview Group Lodge. A park entry permit is required.

The workshop will serve as a preparation for the Audubon Society’s Great Backyard Bird Count. In the Feb. 13-16 event, people will count birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations.
