RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The Cowboy Church and its mix of Christian hymns, testimonials and acoustic guitars is part of the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo again this year.

Its two Sunday services will be held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 1 and Feb. 8 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Rapid City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1CV5EYm ) the event gives cowboys, cowgirls and ranchers who might only see each other once a year a chance to worship together.

Susie McEntire Eaton headlines the service with her husband, Mark, and says their faith helps sustain the “down-to-earth” ranching community through good times and bad. That includes the October 2013 blizzard that killed thousands of cattle in western South Dakota.

She says the stock show services typically draw more than 700 people.
