ATLANTA (AP) - Investigators have seized several firearms as evidence while investigating the slaying of a Cobb County couple found dead in south Georgia.

WXIA-TV reports (https://on.11alive.com/1DqAru2 ) the Georgia Bureau of Investigation obtained a warrant to search the McRae home where Ronnie Adrian “Jay” Towns lived with his parents.

Towns has been charged with malice murder and armed robbery in the deaths of Elrey “Bud” and June Runion. The couple was found shot dead last week after a search. They had gone to McRae to buy a Ford Mustang convertible from a contact they made on Craigslist.

GBI agents also searched a county landfill.

The firearms will be taken to GBI’s crime lab for ballistics testing.

A funeral service for the Runions was planned for Saturday.
