GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A 50-year-old Great Falls man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for threatening a police officer and his pregnant wife after being arrested for a drunken disturbance.

Gale Spottedbear was convicted in November of threats and improper influence in an official matter, along with misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct. Court records said he had a previous conviction for assaulting Officer Mike Walker in 2010.

Walker testified that Spottedbear grew agitated on the way to jail and threatened to kill Walker, his pregnant wife and his family.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/1zrPPFW ) that District Judge Greg Pinski sentenced Spottedbear on Jan. 26, adding six months and 10 days for the misdemeanor charges. He was given credit for the 336 days he has already served.
