SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - The owners of the Bourbon Square Casino in downtown Sparks have reached a deal to sell the building to a local developer that intends to build offices and multi-family housing at the site on Victorian Square.

The former Silver Club sat vacant across the street from John Ascuaga’s Nugget for four years before it reopened as Bourbon Square in August 2013.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://tinyurl.com/mlgetrl) the casino’s owners, Northern Nevada Asset Holdings LLC, reached the new agreement Friday with the development group headed by Dane Hillyard.

Co-owner Thomas Reinhard says the casino with about 300 slot machines and a restaurant is set to close Feb. 5.

It operated as the Silver Club for 33 years.
