PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) - Bergen County Executive James Tedesco has been formally sworn in to office.

The Democrat took the oath of office during a ceremony staged Sunday at Bergen Community College in Paramus. The oath was administered by state Sen. Richard Codey.

The 62-year-old Tedesco defeated incumbent Republican Kathleen Donovan in the November election. He had officially been sworn in by Codey during a private ceremony held on New Year’s Day

A former mayor of Paramus, Tedesco served last year on the county’s Board of Freeholders.
