CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A southern New Jersey man who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian last fall has been indicted on a death by auto charge.

Camden County prosecutors say the indictment against 74-year-old Camden resident Neri Garcia was recently handed up by a county grand jury.

Authorities have said Garcia was legally drunk when he struck and killed 53-year-old Benjamin Cortes-Ramos in October 2014. The victim was trying to cross a Camden street when he was struck, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

Garcia turned himself in after learning about the indictment. He was released after posting $150,000 cash bail.

A telephone number for Garcia could not be located Sunday.
