PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - One Panhandle family wants to turn their grief into something that will benefit others.

The Panama City News Herald (https://bit.ly/1zM8NV2 ) reported Sunday that the Burnham family has established a foundation to fund preschool scholarships for local children.

Two-year-old Wesley Burnham died Dec. 19 when he was struck by a car outside his home. Earlier that day, the toddler had played a small guitar and sang in a Christmas program at his church.

The toddler’s parents told the newspaper that they hope the scholarship fund will provide opportunities for families who could not otherwise afford to attend a school like the one Wesley attended.
