FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Marvelle Harris had 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals Saturday night, and Fresno State held off San Diego State for its first conference win 59-57.

Harris gave Fresno State (6-9, 1-1 Mountain West) a 55-44 lead on a layup with 1:38 left. The Aztecs (11-4, 1-1) rallied within two on Aqeel Quinn’s 3-pointer and sent Harris to the line with 1.7 seconds. Harris missed both and San Diego State was unable to get off a final shot.

The Bulldogs opened the game on a 19-3 run and led by double digits until San Diego State scored 17 straight in the second half to tie the game at 40. Julien Lewis halted the run with a pair of free throws for Fresno State and the Bulldogs pulled away again with a 9-1 run.

Lewis added 14 points and Paul Watson had 12 for the Bulldogs.

Quinn led the Aztecs with 19 points.
