LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - One of the balloons expected to take flight at Lake Havasu City’s hot air balloon festival will be coming all the way from London.

The Today’s News-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1xFmmao) that Alan Yarrow, lord mayor of London, has accepted an invitation to have his hot air balloon in the Havasu Balloon Festival & Fair later this month.

Havasu Mayor Mark Nexsen says the family of Lake Havasu City founder Robert McCulloch is sponsoring the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal balloon, which was built in 2013.

British National Hot Air Balloon champion Andrew Holly will be the pilot.

The festival, in its fifth year, runs Jan. 16-18.

McCulloch bought the London Bridge from the city of London in 1968 for approximately $2 million and having it brought to Havasu piece by piece.
