BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota National Guard’s 188th Army Band is bringing music to schools this week.

Three ensembles from the band will embark on a five-day,15-stop tour beginning Monday. It’s the sixth year for the band’s “Music in Schools” tour.

Sgt. Christopher Hanson says this year’s tour will focus on schools in the north and central parts of the state. He says the shows will highlight not only music but also the little-known role of the Army bandsman.
