HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A 62-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning while crossing the Boulder Highway in Henderson on foot.

Police say the victim was not in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old woman, who escaped injury.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the accident.

Northbound travel lanes on Boulder Highway were closed for more than two hours while officers conducted their investigation.

The man’s death is the first traffic-related fatality in Henderson this year.
