SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) - Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says Senegal striker Sadio Mane will miss the African Cup of Nations because of a calf injury.

Koeman says Sunday that he predicted Mane would be sidelined for four to six weeks and there has been contact with Senegal’s football federation.

Koeman says “maybe they will call the player to have a test or to see what exactly happened, but they have to know it because the contact and the scans - they received everything.”

The 16-team African Cup of Nations starts on Jan. 17.
