BAVARIA, Kan. (AP) - Two people are dead and a third was wounded after a three-vehicle crash in central Kansas eight miles south of Salina.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Andrew Wolf of Ellsworth was driving east on K-140 - formerly known as old U.S. 40 - near the town of Bavaria at 8:02 a.m. Monday when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound pickup truck driven by 34-year-old Joshua Krone of Brookville.

The patrol says Wolf’s vehicle slid backward into the eastbound lane and struck an SUV driven by 40-year-old Jolene Goddard of Brookville.

Wolf and his passenger, 24-year-old Joshua Gepner of McPherson, were killed in the crash, while Goddard was taken to a Salina hospital with injuries. Neither Krone nor his 7-year-old passenger was injured.
