FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina road crews plan to close a lane of Interstate 95 at the Great Pee Dee River bridge as they repair a section of concrete where several holes have recently formed.

The state Department of Transportation said the lane will close at the bridge around mile marker 176 north of Florence around 7 p.m. Monday. It will be re-opened Tuesday morning, then close Tuesday night for several days of repairs.

Crews hope to finish the work Friday. Bad weather could delay the work and the lane closing.

DOT officials say a 20-foot section of concrete on the bridge has deteriorated rapidly. A longer-term solution will be done this spring when the weather gets warmer.
